Eye Physicians provides the highest standards
of eye care in accordance with the guidelines of the American Academy
of Ophthalmology and the American Medical Association. A comprehensive
eye examination at Eye Physicians, Inc. starts with a detailed history
of the patient's systemic and ocular problems as well as any medications
they may be taking by mouth or eye drop. The patient's ocular problem
is then addressed in detail to establish a history of the problem
at hand.
The patient's eyes are measured to determine if
there is any need for corrective lenses. The patient's intraocular
pressure is checked to evaluate for glaucoma. Many other tests may
be performed as needed to assess the patient's problem in detail.

The patient is then given eye drops to dilate the pupils. Pupillary
dilation enables the physician to examine the eye thoroughly from
front to back. Any signs of cataract, glaucoma or retinal disease
can be detected with much greater reliability and accuracy when
the pupils are dilated.
A comprehensive eye examination provides the patient
with a total assessment of his/her ocular health. Any abnormalities
found at the time of the examination are discussed at length with
the patient to insure that he/she understands the problem and its
treatment options completely.
